Transporting pharmaceuticals via sea freight is generally less complex than air transport. While the lead times for ocean freight are significantly longer compared to air freight, the costs associated with sea transport are also much lower. At San Anglo, we have developed two specialized products for sea freight pharmaceuticals under the CTC Pharma brand.
In collaboration with our clients, we assess each shipment to determine the most appropriate product to use. Factors such as drug stability and lane risk assessments are critical in this decision-making process.
Below is an overview of our offerings. Each product comes with a Standard Operating Procedure and a comprehensive checklist, developed in accordance with GDP guidelines. All shipments are handled by qualified and certified personnel to ensure the highest standards of care.
At CTC Active Ocean, we utilize specialized reefer containers equipped with advanced cooling systems to maintain the appropriate temperature for pharmaceuticals during transport. These containers are connected to generators at the port of departure, onboard the vessel, and at the port of destination, ensuring consistent temperature control throughout the journey. Currently, CTC Active Ocean services are available exclusively for Full Container Load (FCL) shipments.
CTC Basic Ocean is designed for very stable medications and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). In this service, the goods are transported as "general cargo" in standard containers. However, we ensure that the products can be collected, handled, stored, and delivered at controlled temperatures as needed before departure and after arrival.
